Required to sit for board certifying exam – must have by October 1st of board year
Review eligibility per state (i.e. IMG in NYS cannot complete application until residency completed)
FCVS or not (required for some states and for IMG)
If not using this find the registrar in your medical school to send documents
UB Peds Program Director will complete the Residency verification form
Transcript for exam scores must be be sent via FSMB ($70-80 for transcript to be sent to NYS license board); if through FCVS, will automatically be done and included in fees
Check with each state for mandated courses and complete as instructed
Child abuse and infection control for NYS - $30 each - 2023
Cost in 2023 - $735 for NYS

Postgraduate Training Requirements
Graduates of Registered or Accredited Medical Programs - can apply in PGY2
If you graduated from a NYS- registered or LCME- or AOA-accredited medical program, you must complete at least one year of postgraduate hospital training in an accredited residency program approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, the American Osteopathic Association, or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Graduates of Non-accredited Medical Programs - must wait until 1 month prior to graduation to apply
If you did not graduate from a NYS-registered or LCME- or AOA-accredited medical program, you must complete at least three years of postgraduate hospital training in an accredited residency program approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, the American Osteopathic Association, or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
