Chief rounds takes place every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 12:15 pm - 1:00 pm
Location: J7 conference room.
Attendance is expected for all residents who are available at that time (Floors, clinics, electives).
Our academic half day takes place on every Thursday from 12:30pm until 4:00pm
Location: Alford auditorium
Attendance is mandatory for every resident except for the following situations or with permission from the chief residents
Vacation
Having worked overnight
Planning to work overnight after having also worked the night before
Certain ED shift
If you must miss lecture for any reason, please let the chiefs know in advance because telling us afterwards will be too late.
Lectures on Thursday are considered protected time
PHS attendings will take care of issues on the floors and should be working on admissions during lecture
Chief residents will answer all pages during lecture
Subspecialties and private attendings are supposed to be notified of issues during lecture
ASCOMS will be handed to the chiefs during lecture. This is to ensure that you can completely focus on lecture and are not interrupted by calls and pages.
Grand rounds takes place every Friday morning at 8:00am
Location: zoom
All residents are expected to be there unless they have a conflicting clinical assignment or they are not scheduled to be working at OCH that day.
Rounds on the floors will start at 9:00 am on Fridays to accommodate floor teams being able to attend grand rounds.
Remember to sign out all new patients on Friday, as the night team will be leaving before rounds.
Ambulatory Continuity clinics should be scheduling patients at 9:00 AM so clinic residents are able to attend grand rounds.
